6 cups chopped iceberg lettuce
1 1/2 tsp butter
1 cup chopped onions
1 tbsp chopped celery (ajmoda)
1 cup milk
2 cups water
1/2 tsp salt
freshly ground black pepper (kalimirch) to taste

Method


For lettuce soup

  1. To make lettuce soup, heat the butter in deep non- stick pan, add the onions and sauté on a medium flame for 2 minutes.
  2. Add the celery, lettuce leaves, water and milk.
  3. Cook on a medium flame for 7 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
  4. Cool slightly and blend in a mixer till smooth.
  5. Transfer the mixture in the same deep non-stick pan, add the salt and pepper powder and mix well. Cook on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
  6. Serve lettuce soup hot.
